This is the University of Maine's first time competing in the SAE Aero Design Competition. The team will be challenged with designing and building a remote controlled aircraft to carry a calculated load. The team will have the ultimate goal of competing in the SAE Aero Design West Compition against other schools across the united states.
The SAE Aero Design Competition is a design competition intended to challenge undergraduate students with a real life engineering problem. The competition provides students with design limitations which must be followed while also giving them the opportunity to make compromises and design decisions which will ultimately decide the success of their airplane.
